What a committee seat involves.

Every division in the 30th has two Republican committee seats, and most are open. Here is what the role actually asks of you.

The role, plainly

Three things, on your own street.

Know about fifty households

A division is a couple of blocks. You already walk it. This is knowing who lives there and being someone they recognize.

Show up twice a year

The primary and the general, at the polling place you already vote at. Plus a monthly ward meeting.

Hand people the ballot

Most voters meet the Republican Party exactly once — at a folding table outside a school. That is the whole job, and nobody else does it for you.

What people ask us

The three real objections.

"I have never done anything political."

Good. The people who are best at this are the ones who already know the block — the neighbor with the dog, the person who runs the block party. Political experience is not the qualification. Being known is.

"I do not have the time."

Then do one election day with us as a volunteer before you take a seat. No appointment, no paperwork, no obligation afterward. Most people decide from that one day.

"I am not sure I am registered Republican."

We will check for you, and if you need to change it, it takes about five minutes. Our voter resources show you how. To hold a seat, you need to be registered Republican, live in the division and stay registered R while you serve.
